Springtime in Philly brings a lot of amazing things: the roof deck at the Continental, hikes along the Schuylkill, and the return of the Mister Softee truck, for starters. But it also means the return of Philly Tech Week, an annual celebration of technology and innovation. This year’s event runs April 27 through May 5 and promises to have something for everyone. There are panel discussions, workshops, presentations, and social events, grouped together around various topics designed to bring the best and brightest minds together to share and learn from each other.
While there are plenty of great events to choose from, if I may be so bold as to recommend one event that should be required attendance for anyone in the digital marketing field:
Title: Workshop: Building a Digital Content Strategy that Generates Leads
Date: Monday, April 30th
Time: 6pm – 8pm
Place: eCity Offices: 1608 Walnut St, 12th floor
Tickets: $10
Why are we putting on this event? As the internet has evolved, we have seen how users have matured with it; they are overwhelmed with options, have shorter attention spans, and are much more skeptical of ads. They see their purchasing decisions as a natural extension of themselves and are willing to switch vendors if they find a competitor that better aligns with their values.
So how should companies respond? By learning how to tell their story in a way that attracts and engages your ideal customers. And the only way to know how to create and communicate the stories that will resonate is by building out a content strategy that identifies the types of users you want to attract and the information and brand messages that will encourage them to take the steps towards becoming your customer.
Our workshop will walk participants through:
- The importance of having a content strategy
- Elements of an effective content strategy
- The 3 key phases of building a content strategy
- How a content governance plan sets you up for success over the long-run
- 3 actionable steps you can take to get started right now
Attendees will walk away with the tools they need to go back and lead their offices to creating a much more defined and achievable strategy to start attracting the customers they want to their websites and have them turn into genuine prospects.
This workshop is limited to an intimate group to ensure we can focus on helping everyone leave with a solid foundation. And if the content strategy discussion isn’t enough to convince you to come, hopefully the snacks, beer, and opportunity to network with local colleagues are.
